Parasound products are renowned for their superior sound quality. The company's founder and CEO, Richard Schram, founded Parasound in San Francisco in 1981 because he was unhappy with the price of audio products on the market, which often proved unaffordable to many. He believed that in order to produce high-quality devices, it was not necessary to invest a hefty cost and thus make high-quality audio and hi-fi products available to more people.

To this day, Parasound manufactures products in the Far East, Taiwan, yet it can be said that this brand is characterized by a very good price and quality. Another important figure in the company is John Curl, who was born in 1942 in San Francisco, California. He first designed tape recorders and then joined Marc Levinson in the 1970s, where he designed pre- and final amplifiers.
